Amongst his many achievements, Lestat has been ranked in the top terriers listing by the SIT (societa italiana terrier) in the year 2002. He was also reserve group winner at the international terrier special show held in Milan 2002 under the late judge Signor Mariotti.. It was a great win for a non-italian registered dog, especially a skye terrier.
The same year he made his first trip to the UK to show at the presitigious, CRUFTS thereby begining his cross channel trips to the British Isles. Under breed specialist judges he won his class and was awarded the UKKC stud book number soon after. In 2006 under judge Colin Richardson he was reserve CAC at the show in Richmond!!
In late 2008 at the age of 10+, Lestat made his debut in the United States and was pointed.
On May 15th, 2009, Lestat left as we entrusted him to the angels. He had been running and playing as ever but on the 14th we noticed a strange bloating in his stomach. The tumor in on his spleen was leaking blood into his abdominal cavity and though we opted to have it surgically removed, Lestat began to weaken. In such situations it is very possible a seizure, stroke or worse can happen- something we were not going to put Lesat through.
We made the heartbreaking decision to let him go to his Aunt Donna and mommy Lynn and daddy Shadow, just over the rainbow. Lestat was so brave. Kissing and cuddling and like ever my darling prince took a nap in my arms and still sleeps. At about 3:30 PM on the 15th his heart stopped beating. And he went to peace his eyes watching me. My brave brave boy, a gentleman till the very end.
The emptiness his loss has left i can not even express. He was TRULY one of a kind. And though a glimpse of his shows up in his kids, he was UNIQUE and has no comparison nor rival.
My darling Brat Prince, may the angels take care of you till you and i meet again.
I miss you so much there are no words.
