In our Hearts Always

The love and kindness of some though lost to us and denied to the world can never be left behind. It walks with us, and makes us smile even in the most sad moments.
Our wins and journey is dedicated to them.

First and foremost, Mrs. Donna Dale, who led me to my Lestat. The gift you gave me, i can never repay.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, time and loving e-mails with us. We learnt our strength from you.

If you walked the journey of the Coven, in its pages, you might have noticed we mention a lot of judges whom we lost along the way. Sadly, their battle against cancer took them from us too early.

Signora Marina Giudetti.
Marchesa Alessandra Sommi Picenardi
Mr Xander Hehl
Mr Terry Thorn

Not only were they my favorite judges but also dear friends. Never was there a day I could not share my thoughts, concerns and doubts with you. You always made time to help and share your wisdom. For all you did for the Coven, we thank you. You are missed each day, and every day. Thank you for all your advice and guidance. It will shine in the stars and guide me always!!

Another dear friend and co-exibitor we lost is Tricia Newman- Lestat's dear 'aunt'. Her welcoming heart and kind words, generosity and positivity had many admirers. Her untimely passing was a big loss to the skye world at a personal level.
I miss our long chats dear friend. Thank you for giving Lestat a special place in your heart.

On July 6th, 2009 with the sad passing of Mr Rolf Dahlbom, the skye terier world lost a great admirer, devoted breeder and leader. Rolf and Thea spent nearly 40 years, promoting very high quality, even tempered, breathtaking skyes. They were the top winning dogs not only in native Finland, but all over the world.
Despite the aura and presence Rolf had as one of the most successful breeder of all times, he had a personality that was giving and sharing; loving and happy always.
Sadly, Rolf lost his battle to cancer and left us all too soon.
His friendship, admiration and warm and welcoming nature is something we here at the coven will mourn forever.
Thank you dear Rolf for being a friend, guide and advisor. We hope your love for the breed guides, Thea, Carina and Krista and all of us in the years ahead. You will be missed more than words can say.

On April 27th, 2010 a deep tragedy struck the skye world with the sad passing of Mr. Ben Dale founder of the Gleanntan Kennels of Gettysburg, PA. Ben and Donna had a very special place in our hearts as their guidance led us to our Lestat and through the trials of petty hearts that came with Lestat's wins in the show ring. It is their love and care that saw us through so many lonely moments. We had the honor of sharing a great day with Ben at Crufts 2004 as he watched Lestat being handled by Josh, unaware of their identities, cheering them both on and complimenting the handling and the stunning skye. Imagine his surprise when he figured out it was Josh and Lestat. And more so imagine his PRIDE and JOY. He was so happy to see them both in action. After the judging he came over to see Lestat and his kids, Duncan and Zenobia and compliment us on our success and how we had a lot to be proud of. Upon our arrival to the USA, we saw Ben again at Lestat's debut show guiding and encouraging us. Halloween weekend we showed under Ben and had the joy of adding a point to Rowan's credit with a Best of Breed award.  Ben was a great ambassador for the dog world and skyes especially. The dog world has indeed lost a great admirer and friend. The wisdom Donna and Ben left us guided us and will continue to be our strength and blessing in the darkness ahead. Rest in peace dear Ben. We were deeply honored by your love and pride for Lestat. Thank you for the gift of love and courage that you gave us.

For however short a span of time, we are so blessed to have you all touch our lives and guide us.
You are, Forever with us.

May your spirits soar. Until we meet again,

Blessed be!!
