After a long wait Rowan came to us, and a dream came true. We waited for a pup from Wemoway Devil Moon for what seemed like forever. Initially, the idea had been to breed our Merrique to him. But, as her cousin Alexandra was being bred to Dennis himself, we decided to go ahead put our plans on hold and let ourselves be talked into taking a daughter from this combination.
The first mating produced 2 girls but sadly, only one lived.
Heartbroken, we still hoped a future day would bring us our new baby girl. 

The repeat mating of the two produced girls in August 2004.  This time they not only survived but showed great potential. Her pedigree and call name having been picked by us and written down, no one could have guessed how special Rowan would be.

Like Rowan Mayfair, after whom she is named, our Rowan decided she too would be unique in her own way.
She turned out to be a drop ear skye. 

Rowan is the ONLY drop daughter of the Alexandra-Devil Moon mating!!
Yet another reason why dear Rowan is so special (and coveted by ambitious or disliked by petty minds.) 

The first drop skye to show up on the Mainland European Continent in almost two decades, is Rowan. Most judges are so amazed to see her and so confused as to how she should be judged. Nevertheless, Rowan has always proved just how special she is and continues to do so. 

Her AKC debut was at the Rose Cluster on 9-10th of May 2009. Rowan took the Winner and BOS for her First point in Lancaster, PA and the following weekend at Mattaponi KC, VA went on to take a 4 point major and BOS again. Rowan went on to take a class win and a Reserve winner at Hatboro KC the first day. We still maintain she was blindly robbed of a very truly merited major. The new year brought new opportunities and promises. The journey continued with Rowan winning a 5-point major at the Columbia Terrier Show hosted by the PTSC. She continued to take best winners and Best of Opposite to Gleanntan Comeflywithme, the top Skye Terrier of the year. On 22, May 2010, Rowan took her last point and went BOS again, there by crowning herself AKC champion. 

Rowan continues to amaze and surprise us with her charm and grace. We could not be prouder of our little jewel.
