The Buchhiet Family had its introduction to the heavenly breed at the international show in Saarbrucken, Germany. They were looking for a pup and had some ideas but their mind was not made up. So, to be sure, they decided to try their luck at the show. Pandora had just had the Z litter four days prior and as the show was only an hour away off went Lestat and Merrique with 'daddy' to have a nice and fuss free day. (I think they were bored of the little ones by now).
The Buchhiets owned a old female Yorkshire Terrier at this time. And as it was Reinhold's turn to pick 'his' boy a great compromise was reached. Another terrier but a dog Reinhold could spend time with, Kevin and the grandkids could play with.
A visit to our house and a viewing of a week old litter and the Buchhiets were sure it was a Skye terrier they wanted.
Spencer has been their baby since that very day in late May 2002, when they laid eyes on him. Love and first sight is all it took.
Though Spencer went on to be alpha dog, he and Buffy the yorkie spent two wonderful years together. She died at 14 years of age. And to this day, Spencer misses his great friend looking for her in every yorkie he sees. It was a joy knowing little Buffy who welcomed Spencer into her home and heart with such kindness. She is missed by us all!
We have spent a great many holidays and show afternoons together as a family. A better and loving home for our baby boy we could never have dreamt of.
For the love and joy Reinhold and Annette their family and little Buffy brought to our lives we are truly in their debt. For the AWESOME job they do with Spencer, we have no words.
Reinhold's bond with Spencer inspired his brother to go ahead and get a skye terrier too. Gilbert is the proud owner of our boy, Carlson vom Prieser Hof, aka Valentine.
